Article Snippet:
"Crain said Tuesday's attack was less serious than attacks against the same 13 "root" servers in October 2002 because technology innovations in recent years have increasingly distributed their workloads to other computers around the globe."

Ain't it amazing what some folks can do with a few million hacked MS-Windows boxes?

I doubt they can really break it as I think you do also, esp what is contained on US soil.
Also most likely they have no inkling of what a true hack attack/denial of service etc looks like, and we wont show them till need is there.
No doubt there are fall back procedures etc to keep the mission critical parts going.
But it could sure make our lives Internet poor for a time.

Re #9
Goron, the Alpha-Male, is not what he used to be. He is aging too fast. His shelf life is almost over. You cannot count on him to fix it. Maybe Hilaritrix the She-Male, could fix it if she wins the presidency.:-) With the help of "Cyber Village."

Among the targeted "root" servers that manage global Internet traffic were ones operated by the Defense Department and the Internet's primary oversight body.Stay calm. Nobody hardly noticed. It was just "showing off".

I am glad that the POTUS race started so early this time because it has forced candidate's like Hilary and Obama into reaction mode.
IMO Obama is a real idiot, meaning any idiot could come out and say 'all US forces out by March 2008'
I think that is what I saw him say today.

I noticed it also. A lot of lagging and non responding sites about an hour ago. It lasted about an hour.
