I've already made this well known. I hope others will join me. There are about two dozen rabid promoters of the Rudy candidacy here on FR. I hope that it is clear to them that if this liberal is somehow nominated, that he will suffer a defeat in the general election that will make the Dole election look like a landslide.

I believe Jim Talent lost in MIssouri due to the stem cell issue. He did not lose over immigration issues.

I am not talking about walking away from the Republican Party, but rather giving it a good, hard spanking.

Yup. That's what the "protest voters" said in '06, and now we have Nancy Pelosi comandeering military planes for her jaunts to and from the coast.

Nicely done, "protest voters."

Rudy has said he will nominate Supreme Court Justices in the mold of Alito and Roberts. That will be hugely important, since the new President will likely nominate a couple or more.

Would you rather have Hillary! or Obama nominating them?

Has he demonstrated any ability to understand and honestly apply the Constitution? I'm sure his handlers have told him to mollify conservatives by saying he'll support the likes of Alito and Roberts, but unless I see some sign that he intends to have the Constitution applied properly and honestly I see no reason to trust that he'd appoint judges who would do so.

I can't stand McCain but I'm a conservative so would MUCH rather have a bad Republican (conservative on a few issues) in the White House over a Communist/Socialist (all out government control of life).

A Democrat in the White House who tries to put forth a liberal agenda will face opposition from Republicans in the Congress. A liberal "Republican" in the White House, by contrast, would face no such opposition.

Consider the relative success of Clinton pushing Hillarycare versus Bush pushing his prescription drug plan.

I agree it's pointless to bash too much on Republicans who truly are moderate, but many so-called "moderates" are really liberals.

As for McCain, I don't see how I can possibly support a man who wrote the McCain-Feingold abomination.

See the election results from November's election. (I typed slowly this time just to make you happy)

Not true. Bush is pushing for amnesty for illegals in the country. The republican congress was set to stop it, not pass it. With self-righteous, haughty, idealism, some conservatives decided we would be better off with a democrat/socialist congress in there to approve amnesty.

D you really think that Kerry/Hillary/et. al. would have sent up **conservative** Supreme Court judges?

Let's try this one more time . . .

Do you have a single shred of evidence to support your point that the GOP losses in November were primarily attributable to a loss of support among conservatives?

Conservatives make up about 30%-35% of the electorate in most places. A Republican candidate isn't guarateed a victory even if every one of them shows up on election day and casts a vote for him.

"Every time, we get talked into holding on and sticking with them "just this one more time" and things will get better, but they get worse."

and the people around here that want to convince you to hang in there because things are going to get better.. Don't seem to understand that it DOESN'T get better, we just get more of the same.

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing day after day and expecting a different outcome.

Time to do something different.

It's time for the Republican Party to change, or it can just resign itself to it's minority status. All of those people on this board who want to continue to bash those who are fed up. Keep it up. You're digging your own party's grave.

LOL! The denial is worse than I thought! I believe the evidence is to the contrary or else we wouldn't have ridiculous threads like this.

Being a Republican should require that you respect The Constitution as the back bone of your political philosophy, and not constantly resort to twisting it around, to meet your own social goals, and, for profit.

You don't get it.. if Rudy or McCain gets elected, the outcome will not be any different. Check out what Schwarzenegger is doing in California. How could a Dem do it any different?

That was not a hard spanking.

It clearly didn't work or you would not be promoting the likes of Gulianni and McCain.

Bend over and put your hands on your ankles now cause this next one is gonna hurt!!!
