DENTON - A mouse trap ensnared a thief for one Denton woman after she said a crook hit her purse one too many times.
After Jody Rodriguez briefly left her purse unattended under her work desk at the Denia Recreation Center, she said she returned to notice an item once inside the bag was now on her desk.
And thats when I realized that somebody had taken money out of my purse on Friday, Ms. Rodriguez said. A few days later, the thief struck again.
I went to get money out for pizza at my house and I noticed my money was gone again, she said.
After two thefts from her purse, Ms. Rodriguez said enough was enough - so she decided a traditional pest-control method was the best way to catch a pest.

Ms. Rodriguez purchased a rat trap and even tested it a few times to ensure it would work. The determined recreation specialist set the trap underneath her wallet and walked down the hall to her office.

I came around the corner and saw that he had gotten my wallet, she said.
Denton police are expected to charge the man.
$40 was a lot to me, and I didnt want it to happen again to me or to anybody else, she said.

I hope it hurt really, really bad!

I'd not sure that the trap actually closed on the thief's fingers - the article indicates that the trap served as a noise-making device.
Bravo!
It doesn't say what kind of trap that she used. Was it the typical mousetrap like in Tom & Jerry cartoon, where they put cheese on one side?
But hey, that's just me.
;-)
so she got robbed, yet continued to leave her purse unattended??? THEN she put a mouse trap in it and left it unattended AGAIN??
who's dumber, her or the crook?
