It would appear as if our president is only in the business of pardoning criminals, not those who try and arrest them.

We know what this thread would look like if a guy whose name started with the next letter of the alphabet was responsible for such a discrepancy.

Amusing how Bush can't seem to find the time to pardon these guys.

Perhaps a campaign to have their sentences commuted rather than a full pardon would be more successful at this time. Just a thought...

Note that in all but 3 cases, the "pardon" is to wipe the conviction off the records, the criminals had already served their entire sentences.

Generally, this means the people have made something of their lives, but are kept from some particular employment because of the criminal conviction; maybe they want to be a police officer and need to be able to carry a weapon, or something else.

I don't know anything about the specific cases, so I don't know exactly why each is getting a pardon.

In the other 3 cases, it looks like in two of them they are simply ending a "supervised probation", while in the 3rd they actually got out of jail a few years earlier.

NONE of Bush's pardons have yet let people off without serving significant parts of their sentences.

What is the "paragraph function"? I've always had to re-paragraph stuff, is there a way to make it happen automatically?

Other than Clinton, pardons are most often for people who have served a large part of their sentence or have served all of it and this is a way of getting gun rights or voting rights back.
