In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
pellucid \puh-LOO-sid\, adjective
1. Transparent; clear; not opaque.
2. Easily understandable.
Example sentences:
The prevailing atmosphere as one cruises Kukulcan Boulevard, the busy strip where most of Cancun's 122 hotels are clustered, remains that of an Orlando or a Las Vegas dropped intact next to pellucid Caribbean waters.
-- Larry Rohter, "What's Doing in Cancun.", New York Times, March 8, 1998
In her scrupulous and pellucid prose, she appears to distance herself from the optimistic Californian light.
-- Cynthia Ozick, "What Writer's Writers Write.", New York Times Magazine, January 2, 2000
Etymology:
Pellucid comes from Latin pellucidus, "shining, transparent," from pellucere, "to shine through," from per-, "through" + lucere, "to shine."
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

I LOVE that gif! A++ for you!
Thank You. ;)
I went with the theme without even noticing it. A+ for you!
I thought yankee kids were tough. An inch?
Hillary's speech was anything but pellucid. Though the agony I endured listening to her certainly was.
That's a pretty high bar to set, to come in worse than Jimmuh, but she has the potential.
My kids would love more snow. This is the first we've had in about 11 months and it's not much. It just lines the eaves of the roofs and edge of the road and we're supposed to get a wintry mix during the day.
-how on earth could anybody think this plan wouldn't land them in jail? (shaking my head)
Better safe than sorry. A+ for you!
I cannot bear listening to the woman at all. A for you.
We don't have enough for sledding or anything. It is cold enough that ice skating is going on, but little else. They must be making snow for the local ski slopes. It's just dang cold up here. I get out of class at 22:30 - I don't get gas afer class because it is windy and freezing. It takes awhile for the car to warm up. Mid day has been around 20 with lots of wind to lower the temps. I haven't washed my car in weeks.....the road sludge looks awful on my poor car. /whine
Tardingness?
"Doesn't ring a bell," Robt muses since he came in early.
(The dent points out he never comes early, but Whyisatexasgirlgladhermarinedoesn'tcomeearly?)

Nancy Pellucid? I think not.
A+!

in this day and age? i have no idea. you can't leave a piece of luggage unattended in the airport, but we shouldn't be suspicious of exposed wires and batteries mounted on infrastructure?
That was a pretty funny story.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
