Barbaro is euthanized

Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro was euthanized Monday morning after complications from his breakdown at the Preakness last May.

"We just reached a point where it was going to be difficult for him to go on without pain," co-owner Roy Jackson said. "It was the right decision, it was the right thing to do. We said all along if there was a situation where it would become more difficult for him then it would be time."

I have regular fellowship with Him, thanks.

I somehow highly doubt that.

1. You can't register an AIed throughbred, 2. I don't know why, but I've been told by a vet that horse semen can not be kept for much more then 24-48 hours "ice", doesn't work.

Care to elaborate? Be specific.

Care to elaborate? Be specific.

"specific"?

Here's specific for you.

You wrote earlier, "I have regular fellowship with Him".

Let's just say that you have as much of a "regular fellowship with Him" as Hillary Clinton has with authenticity and decency.

Give us all a break...... especially "Him".

You have shown no care for anyone who loves animals on this thread.

Get real, buddy!

It is a strange world,
but that's the way it's made. Now go out there and make it better with your own sweat and tears. Just as we are making it better living our lives without your interference.

You wrote, chocolate syrup boy, on another thread:

"I mean this sincerely: Humans are more valuable in God's sight than animals ............. it's the humans that have infinite worth in God's perspective."

If humans are the center of God's sight ......... we are in a lot of trouble with human attitudes such as yours.

Your answer is subjective and implies a reason/cause, but you're dancing around the issue.

Try again.

Like this: you cannot possibly have fellowship with God because...

Hint: there is a specific, concrete reason why a human (like me, for instance) can/cannot have personal fellowship with the Creator of the Universe. What is it?

You most likely will be under psychiatric care soon.

I wish you luck with your delusions and with your care.

Find a good home.

Hope Barbaro was starved to death like Terri Schaivo. I hear that is a calm, peaceful, beautiful, serene way to die. Yep, that's what I heard.

You are a real sicko!

You are as close to "Him" as manure is to honey.

Get lost.

OK, here's the answer I'm looking for - I could not possibly have fellowship with God because of my sinful (in your eyes) behavior on this subject.

It is sin that prevents mankind (including me) from having fellowship with God.

Now, you are claiming that I am delusional. A delusion is "A false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness: delusions of persecution".

So, in order to prove your statement, you'll need to provide some evidence that my belief is false in spite of invalidating evidence. Care to do that?

I'll start: I can have fellowship with God because my sin debt was paid by Jesus of Nazareth's substitutionary death on the cross. His sacrifice paid for all of my sins past, present and future. It doesn't mean I won't sin and can't sin, but that they are no longer an issue between me and God. I can have unfettered access to God.

So, it appears to me that our contention is that I have sinned against you because I have not shown enough "love" to animal lovers. If I made you feel bad, I'm sorry and please accept my apology. But I'm not sorry about pointing out that people are unique and different from animals. Making animals into humans via anthropomorphism is sinful in that it devalues God's created order.

Also - Rush Limbaugh has a caller on now @ 1244pm Eastern time talking about Parasocial Relationship Theory, and it's in the context of Princess Di and Barbaro. After the break he's also talking to a caller about Barbaro's last meal. Interesting calls.

it seems strange to me that more people are worried about (interested and compassionate about) a horse than say special needs children.

I'm surprised I didn't see candlelight vigils on tv.

This has gotten way out of hand.

Those of you who are displeased that some of us are mourning Barbaro, you are free to leave.

And those of you who are getting your shorts in a knot over someone who presumes to judge you over this -- relax. God will judge all us when He wishes and how He wishes. Only He knows what is in our hearts and minds.

Anyone else who thinks he does is blowing smoke up his backside.

May you romp in greener pastures, Barbaro.

And may God comfort his owners and those who loved him so much.

Now that's enough.

Leave your sarcasm for those who advocated the death of Terri Schiavo. It has no place in this thread.
I am tired of people injecting the pet peeves in unrelated topics.

This thread was about a horse. We are tired of it being hijacked about other issues.

Liberals constantly bore on about " the children" But they use that as an excuse to shove the programs down our throats. When freepers start to use the same tactics it is disgusting.

Keep those comments to the relevant threads.

In scanning this thread, I did not find any mention of the crux of the matter -- that horses are raced too young. They are put on the track before their bones have fully formed, and fractures are the inevitable result.

After the injured colts are euthanized, the racing industry and the owners and the adoring press all weep crocodile tears. The press accounts NEVER mention that this is a horse that would be alive today, were the owners and the industry not so greedy and cruel. Barbaro was a victim, and the humans who claim to love him were his killers.

Tonight on Boston Legal, the character played by Candice Bergen informed the nation that they horses are raced before they are two years old, before their bones are fully formed. Once in a while, Hollywood does get it right.
