Even this confirmed cat person has to say...
AWWWWWWWWWW!
He's a cutie, alright. I vote for Elwood too - the canine Blues Bros!

I'm thinking something that can have an "ey", Chip can be Chippy, Sonny or Sunny I like, everyone seems to like Rocky too.

Why is it that these pictures are easier on the eye than looking at US politicians? Is it perhaps that these pups do not threaten our national welfare as the guys and gals in the Capitol do?

Question......I have always been told by "dog" people that you should take the puppy home (away from mom and the pack) at 7 weeks. Long enough to learn some social skills, but long enough for the pups to develop a pecking order and anti-social behavior.
Why 9 weeks?
Thanks.

Congats on the new pup!
I read you shouldn't take the biggest or smallest of the litter
I don't really buy into that. A friend of mine had a Brittany Spaniel who was the "runt" of its litter and it was one of the nicest, well-behaved dogs I've ever met. The best advice I can give you for bringing a new dog into the home is to make special time exclusively for give Jake attention. This will ease the transition.

Oh what a sweet puppy. You went through all the right steps in determining that you got the best one - runt or not. I know you are excited about bringing him to his new family.
We have a Bichon who was the runt and never had a smarter sweeter dog.

I want to take them all! I am such a sucker for baby animals. Not in Houston and can't have a dog. :-( I pray they find their way to loving homes who will spoil them like mad. :-D

AWWW what a cutie! I'd love to have a dog but we just don't have the yard for one right now (renting a townhome) Nothing like the puppy breath and chewing on the fingers. As for a name, I agree with the other posters that suggested Elwood.
Best wishes to you and yours!

My little "Potlatch" was the runt of the litter, always healthy and lived to almost 15 yrs. Enjoy your new puppy!!

Congratulations Bob, what an adorable puppy!
For no particular reason, I always liked the name Jake for a dog, prolly not a good name for a poodle, though!
