I was just watching live running of the 11th race at Balmoral, having made an online bet, waiting patiently, minute after minute, then seeing nothing but a black screen and then an uncertainly transmitted voice of the announcer, saying "we are in total darkness. This race is cancelled/ there will be a total refund of all bets" No doubt his voice was being transmitted courtesy of a generator. ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE POWER OUTAGE IN CHICAGO?
Chicago!
Both games were good. I was indifferent to the Bears/Saints game as whoever won the Indy/NE game would be who I'd cheer for. But, I have a soft spot for the Colts and Coach Dungy since last year, so I'm thrilled they won and will be cheering for them in two weeks. I even ordered my first ever NFL jersey- the Colts, #4. What about you? Who will you cheer for?
Mrs. O'Leary's cow again?
There's a news blackout...

"Nah, that's Detroit."
Nah, Detroit has been black for decades.
I remember well when they sneaked out of town in the middle of the night---hope they lose 'big time'
I know Balmoral is south of the City. I lived in Chicago till 1982. I have been to Balmoral many times, don't remember it being FORTY miles away though. Used to also be a thoroughbred track, and was right next to another track called Sportsman's , which is now also only Harness. Arlington Park probably put them out of business when it got rebuilt.
"The Bears will FALL before Lord Manning and the Indianapolis Colts! The Emperor has forseen it!"
I imagine the Horsies will be a 2 1/2 point favorite. Nonetheless, I'm betting the over and I'll put money on Da Bears to win it all.
I was pretty indifferent as well during the Bears/Saints game......leaning mildly toward the Saints. They just made too many mistakes and the Bears deserved to win.
However, I'm an AFL fan, and Indy's been waiting a LONG time to get to the Super Bowl, so it's not a hard decision for me.
The thing I liked about today's games was that I didn't hate any of the teams, so even though I had preferences, I would have been OK either way in either game.
That said, I'm rooting for the Colts big time in the SB.
Jessie's gonna git you fer that.
The fix was in but the wrong horse was winning, thus someone turned the lights out - on purpose!

Here's there map, they're in Crete, a small suburb. Maybe somewhere between 30-40 miles from loop, a 45 minute drive maybe down 57 and the Ryan.
And you have said it! It must be so! :)
It really started to irritate my 10-year-old... he was, like, "Black people do tons of things. What's the big deal?", and turned the channel out of sheer boredom.

"I'm from Baltimore. The franchise (Colts) is anathema here."
Why would you dislike the Colts? If the Colts had not been in Indy back when, Baltimore wouldn't have gained a team except that the Irsay family split town in the dead of night, sneaking out of Indy with the franchise.
You should love the Colts; they're the benefactors of NFL football in Bal'mer.
