I always trick up folks when I ask them how many NFL championships the Vikings have won.

In some ways I actually enjoy today more than Super Bowl Sunday. It's nice having two huge games.

I started an analysis of NFC Championship games several years ago. I've updated it every year since. Here are a couple of elements for this game:

1. NO is making their first trip. First timers are 7-7 in this game. The last two teams to make their first trip to this game -- Seattle last year and Atlanta in '98 -- both won. (FWIW, Seattle lost at least one AFC championship game.)

2. Chicago is making their 4th trip to the game. No team has EVER won in their 4th trip to the game. Even the Redskins, who are 5-1 in this game, lost their 4th trip.
