Yes ladies and gentlemen, its time once again to delve into the seamy world of media whoredom.

Mark Burnett Productions has once again scoured the vast state of California
to bring us the best of the best of Survivor contestants.
Of the 19 players, no less that 10 are from California!
And of those 10, eight are from the greater Los Angeles area!

Additionally, he has once again attempted to prove his “diversity” by casting
5 African-Americans,
5 Hispanic-Americans,
5 Asian-Americans and
5 er 4 Caucasian-Americans.
(Note: In all fairness, he did have 5 Caucasians, but one female chickened out and quite the night before filming started.
Which is why there are only 19 players this season.
Not only that, for those keeping score, she was from Los Angeles also!)

Now for a quick trivia question: Look closely at the cast photo above and tell me what makes this cast different from all the other casts.
(And no, it’s not that there are 19 players this season.)

While no one appears flamboyant or openly gay, given that a majority of the players come from California, odds are good at least one is. So strike one.

Nope! One is a lawyer and another one works for lawyers. Strike two.

That may be the case, but not what I was looking for. You are getting close however, in that it has something to do with appearances.

One of the Asian females is 52, so I guess that classifies her as an "older female".

One would think that Mark would have a couple extras waiting in the wings. I don't see much of a difference in this season's contestants than in previous other than the amount of immigrants - the old, the immigrant, the wacko, the well endowed, the immigrant, the single parent, the bumble head, the nerd, the jock, the immigrant, the gay, the vet, the immigrant, and still not a single one knows how to start a fire.
