NYC lawyers, bed bugs. What's the difference?
Know why sharks don't attack lawyers? Professional courtesy.
I think this would be a perfect thread to start a long list of lawyer jokes!

There was an article somewhere (FR? WSJ?) a few months back that said that there's a resurgence of bedbugs in the country.

New York lawyer. Probably brought the bed bugs with him. It's a pretty sleazy scam to run, especially when your wife is already sick. But as already stipulated, he's a New York lawyer.

Well, in Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group these had to be mandarin oriental bedbugs. The hotel chain must have done its utmost to provide the genuine flavor.

If all this info is correct. They'll win a large settlement, as they should.

I've noticed a lot of hotels have a "green" policy, meaning they encourage us to "save the planet" by not having our room sheets replaced with clean ones every day. Last time I saw this, I declined the "service" and then made a little mark on my sheet with a pencil to see how honest the staff was. Sure enough, they didn't bother to change my sheets even though I requested it. God knows if they even changed the sheets before I got there!

I really think there would be a demand for hotels with bedding that was all completely washed every day in very hot water, including the blankets.
And hopefully also walls and furniture that could be cleaned up easily.
I don't know if that would be enough to rid a room of bedbugs, though.

I simply do not want to know anything about cleanliness problems in hotel beds. See no evil, hear no evil.

yes, and they are showing up in the finest hotels. brought to you by our third world neighbors.
To: sionnsar
I thought bed bugs were spread by Paris Hilton and her ilk.

Millions of dollars for a few bites? Do they have photos to substantiate these "hundreds" of bites? I'd be willing to put cash on the bar they don't.

Friends of mine went to Cal from Mass and got bitten by bed bugs in Califormia.
They brought the bugs home with them, too, flying all the way back to Mass. They had to throw everything away from their bedrooms and luggage. It was expensive, especially since they travelled with two children. That meant tossing 3 bedrooms and treaing the floors and walls.
Major suction.

the bed bugs infest in the mattresses and box springs. They only come out at night while the host is sleeping. I understand they are very difficult to get rid of.
To: Hildy
I just love bedbug threads. Pictures will appear shortly.
