LaDanian Tomlinson, usually very mild-mannered, became incensed after the Chargers' 24-21 loss to the Patriots yesterday when some New England players began mocking Shawne Merriman's sack dance on the Chargers' logo.
"I was very upset," said Tomlinson, who went after some of the New England players. "I would never react that way. I'm a very, very classy person. When you go to the middle of a field and you're doing the dance that Merriman does, that's disrespectful to me and I can't sit there and watch that. It showed no class at all, and maybe that comes from their head coach."
Everyone in the house knew the Patriots' first priority yesterday was going to be trying to stop Tomlinson, who scored an NFL-record 31 touchdowns this season.
Tomlinson, though, came right out and gashed the Patriots' defense and did it repeatedly throughout the game, rushing for 123 yards and two TDs. In fact, Tomlinson was generally the Chargers' first option on almost every offensive series. Tomlinson gained 81 of his rushing yards on 10 first-down carries.
Why is it that the word "classy" sounds so base?
LOL...my wife, who rarely watches football, said the same thing..."Who is that guy...you can barely understand what he says, and all the words come out in a solid stream mixed up with each other..."
I've seen a lot of luck in my day ....... I am from "The Immaculate Reception Pittsburgh" after all.
Squash was even nastier!
A harder little ball to hit you in the back of your leg or *ss.
;-)
rlmorel spits all over keyboard...
LOL.
Uh huh...
ROFL
You stupid fool. Your "rushed typing" had NOTHING to do with your spelling the New England coach's name incorrectly! The "e" and the "i" are nowhere near each other on your keyboard. You just don't know his name, you dumb*ss.
Not only cannot you spell, you think I have no job. Mine is here at my home, goon.
And, you are ignorant in just one more way (that we all can see now), I am a life-long Steeler fan not a Patriot fan.
Time for you to stop thinking, T.F. ........ we all can smell the wood burning.
Yes indeed! That would have shown him to have the class that he implores us to see.
Hmmm .............. I think it's because Paris Hilton and Madonna used the word the other day about themselves.
Past tense now. He tuned up his wife a few times....
LOL...I'll say.
lovely!
THERE'S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL!!!
;-)
I still think he's a good kid ............ I just think he wanted the ball more. And he should have had it.
Good luck, Pats.
You beat my Steelers so many times when it counted, I know you guys are great. Good luck next weekend.
It is true that football is mostly luck. But it is also true that the more that teams practice, the luckier they get.
What's the saying? "Act like ya been there before (& will again)!"
... and I sometimes wonder how Barry's knees didn't explode when pulling off some of those moves!
I remember another back, Kijana Carter, an All-American out of Penn State. His knee exploded in his first pre-season game with Cincinnati while turning a swing-pass upfield. First time he touched the ball as a pro. Man, what might have been. He was never the same after that.
Most of the earlier dynasty teams that your mentioned also played in the era before "parity". A lot of those playoff games weren't really competitive. How many times did an AFC Champion get to play Bud Grant's Minnesota Vikings in the SuperBowl? See what I mean?
No disrespect to Brady & the Pats. I am pulling for them because they best fit my ideal of what a Team should be. (Plus it's safe now that my Iggles are out).
