PATS' SACK DANCE TICKS OFF TOMLINSON (Class Alert)

LaDanian Tomlinson, usually very mild-mannered, became incensed after the Chargers' 24-21 loss to the Patriots yesterday when some New England players began mocking Shawne Merriman's sack dance on the Chargers' logo.
"I was very upset," said Tomlinson, who went after some of the New England players. "I would never react that way. I'm a very, very classy person. When you go to the middle of a field and you're doing the dance that Merriman does, that's disrespectful to me and I can't sit there and watch that. It showed no class at all, and maybe that comes from their head coach."
Everyone in the house knew the Patriots' first priority yesterday was going to be trying to stop Tomlinson, who scored an NFL-record 31 touchdowns this season.
Tomlinson, though, came right out and gashed the Patriots' defense and did it repeatedly throughout the game, rushing for 123 yards and two TDs. In fact, Tomlinson was generally the Chargers' first option on almost every offensive series. Tomlinson gained 81 of his rushing yards on 10 first-down carries.

LOL
Blaming any of that on Belichick was real classy, L.T.. (sarcasm off)

Well, Belichick is the head coach and ultamately responsible for his players behavior on the field.

What LT meant to say was "damn, Bill Belichick is a great coach and I wish I was a member of the Patriots."

Tomlinson is such a great runner, it is amazing that we didn't get the ball about a dozen more times.
But that is sometimes what it's like to be on a team like S.D. that has so many great offensive weapons. But to me, he should have been given at least 30 carries.

I was mortified when the Bears were penalized for a UC because they took their helmets off after a game winning 49 yard field goal.
Such raw displays of emotion and joy have no place on the football field...

Stay classy San Diego.

That was my first thought as well.

LOL. I don't think Sean Alexander accused the Bears of learning to be classless from Lovie Smith.

By the way, I used to play a lot of raquetball with Ditka back in the late 60's. One nasty and tough competitor................... but I love the guy.

That's usually true. But I saw L.T. on Leno about a month ago and I really liked him. He was gentle and well-spoken. I was amazed to see him get so bent out of shape about the "dancing" and then to me it was even WORSE to basically blame it on Belichick. That was low.
But the intensity that he showed with these silly remarks may just be that same intensity that fuels his excellence in football.

FACT: Tomlinson should have been given the ball more, especially in the fourth quarter.
FACT: The taunting by one of the SD D-Backs cost them that game.
FACT: It's over. Get over it.

If LT wanted to demonstrate how "classy" he is, he should start by telling his teammate, Shawne Merriman, to knock-off the dancing. If it's rubbing people's faces in it for the Pats, it's no different for the Chargers.

I agree.
I'll be 60 next week. I think almost all celebrating is bull -- especially the sick celebratory antics defensive backs go through when they actually knock down a pass --- exactly what they are supposed to do at their positions. It's all so juvenile.
But all this is just a symptom of the times... the self-gratification era......
