Please pardon the vanity, however I feel moved to make a prediction as I watch the opening scenes of "24" tonight. In these opening moments the rampant terrorist actions being portray are being described as the workings of Muslims.
My prediction is that when all is said and done the perpetrators fit a more "mainstream demographic".
Palmer's sister works for the IAA? Islamic American Association?
BTW, this is the first time I've really watched an episode. So, I'm a newbie.
You turned it too soon.
The muzzies are up to no good big time now. "Allahu Akbar!" before he blew himself up.
LOL at Achmed's hippy dippy pachouli-doused neighbor friend. This is a typical young Democrat.
"What's in Accchhhhhhmed's parcel?"
White Castle take-out.
Watch out for Chloe's new boyfriend. He knew how to hack into the "rogue" Pakistani staellite way too quickly. He's a double agent planted in CTU.
You'd think Terrorism 101 would teach you don't sit in the last seat of the last car of the train you're bombing.
Agreed, but his target was not the train. The target was "Union Station".
In the previews I could've sworn I saw Jack threaten that bald bluetooth guy from last season. So, I also vote not all muslim.
Last I hope all previews for the next episode aren't buried on Sprint, or however they're advertising it. (If you didn't see it, at the conclusion there was a note from Fox saying to see previews for next episode you text message 'Jack' on your Sprint phone.)
Because it's not really that liberal. 24 LOVES to play mind games with the viewers.
A great example comes from later in the episode. A muslim man is arrested. His white neighbors and his muslim son cry foul. Audience feels real bad for muslim kid, especially since he was harassed by some other stupid neighbors. Later we see the muslim kid talking on the phone to a head terrorist! Suddenly, we don't feel so bad for the muslim kid after all...
That's what to expect from 24. Nothing is ever what it seems. If it seems to go Left, prepare for the resolution to be to the Right. Those of us who have been with the show through the seasons know not to freak out (too much) when liberals are on screen, because the show rarely trumpets liberal values.
Odds:
Muslims 1:5
Catholics 1:1500
Southern Babtists 1:2500
Lutherans 1:250
Buddhists 1:100000
Amish 1:3
Look out for the Amish!
Glad I'm not the only one...
I thought the same thing. And why is Chloe still alive?
They seem to be "goring" all oxen.
Patriot Act,
Muslims,
Terrorists,
Pacifists,
blurring the line between interogation and torture,
domestic surveilance,
etc...
"And why is Chloe still alive?"
To keep my husband happy. :)
I missed a lot of last season but it's my understanding that the only two characters left are Chloe and Jack. Her days have to be numbered. BTW I found the torture scene too much for my taste but it allowed me to see what else was on.
"Watch out for Chloe's new boyfriend."
I don't trust him either.
