This happened in a fairly rural area of Illinois. What can you say---my heart aches for the families these folks leave behind. One of two states without concealed carry of any type for the law abiding citizen and free reign for unchecked evil.

I feel for these people, but my first thought when I saw the headline (forgive me for this) was "Trans-fats strike again!"

One of two states without concealed carry of any type for the law abiding citizen and free reign for unchecked evil. What a sad, sad story here; I am amazed. . .though not totally, reasonably. . .that there is no protection available i.e. 'gun in the drawer' or something. ..how much would it cost to have full-time onsite Security? I hope they at least, have cameras 'on'; and the perps can be id'd immediately dealt with. . .
As for that; I guess this Mother IS now. . .at the 'up North' Burger King. . .in the sky. . .
Prayers for her and her family.

Apparent robbery? I don't know. Something doesn't seem right about this story.
Perhaps there is videotape.

One of two states without concealed carry of any type for the law abiding citizen and free reign for unchecked evil. Even if this happened in a Concealed Carry state you can bet that the Burger King would have a policy of no employee may bring a fire arm to work policy.
Most employers do not want the liability of armed employees.
Unfortunately there has not been any civil liability lawsuit that I have seen against an employer that forbade employees in high risk positions to carry that subsequently were killed while forcibly unarmed.
Perhaps someday a truly outrageous case will come to light and that will be remedied but I wont hold my breath. It would take Gun Owners of America or some other similar group to take such a case.

" One of two states without concealed carry of any type for the law abiding citizen and free reign for unchecked evil."
Totally irrelevant.
Anyone working in a Burger King is most likely unable to afford a legal firearm.

How harsh is the penalty for carrying a hand gun illegally? I'm sure it isn't that harsh.
