The surrogate mother / buy-a-baby thing is a tough one. Recognizing the desperation of infertile couples on one hand and the obvious moral/ethical/legal considerations on the other. Adoption wasn't an option it seems?
$50K is quite a chunk of change and I'd be concerned about the surrogate's future involvement and claim on the child.
Good morning Molly, thanks for the links.
Hope you are doing well in this New Year.
Today, the families who've been guests at our church leave, so I'm heading off to collect the linens for folks to take hope to wash, clean up the rooms, get everything back to "normal".
I'll be back later.
Read about your husband's experience in Mexico! WOW, but very helpful for you to share that prairie...My husband reported a slight allergic reaction the last time he had shrimp after I told him about your "event". He thought the coconut taste had something to do with it.
Anyway, we're going to be very careful, thanks to you!
What role the surrogate will play in the future is (or should be) of great concern. Was she just the incubator or did she contribute half of the child's genes? If the latter, there is the possibility she might change her mind and go to court.
I think the former, from the TOO MUCH INFORMATION that I have. LOL!<pGood morning! Right now the weather map shows rain to the south and freezing rain to the north of us. We are in the foggy middle, where no precipitation is predicted until this evening.
The Colts won!!
Rush was talking about the Yale a capella group attack on his show last week.
The dread I was feeling that nobody on that bus would have any benedryl was simply awful. Luckily, that wasn't the case.
Sean Hannity interviewed the young man with his jaw wired shut the other night (Friday,, maybe Thursday). I'm astounded that charges have not been filled.
What little I've read indicates that the attackers are from wealthy influencial SF families.
Not that it should matter one bit but that's what I've read.
Good morning.
Fox reported that San Francisco police FINALLY flew to the east coast to interview the boys who were attacked. About time.
Well, I've finished making the food for coffee hour after church. It's our annual meeting today so I think we'll have a crowd. As usual, I've probably made waaay too much food.
I missed that. Somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I think I heard reference to a Frat House. But I missed the wealthy, influencial stuff.
There are dangers to freeping and watching TV at the same time. I am a perfect example of it.
Better too much food than not enough, I always say.
We are going to church in a bit too. bbl
Two of the young kids in the families we've had at church this week were making out and behaving very inappropriately last evening...that's the starter...
THEN 3 of the adults arrived just withing curfew time, drunk. They got into a fight, and our volunteer overnight couple had to deal with this, by call 911...
THEN, they thought all had quieted down, when our volunteers went out to their 2 cars this a.m., and found that the windows had been smashed, and items stolen, whether by our guests or not, it's not clear. They seemed to think it was other hooligans.
So the police were out again about 7 a.m. WHAT a MESS!!This whole program is on shakey ground as far as I'm concerned, but I'll see how the professional social worker handles the situation.
I feel really bad for our volunteers and the folks in the program who followed the rules.
Oh and btw, this is the 3rd broken car window incident, I'm personally aware of in 2 weeks around here...not a good sign...
When a Dem politician prays in public it's okey-dokey, but look out when Rs do it: they're right wing jihadists ready to take your liberties away!
Getting ready to leave to go to the hospital to pick up the 3 day old little BOY (we were told at first it was a girl) and this afternoon just might go over to New Orleans to see the folks that raised SIL. We are truly blessed....
Geaux Saints!!!
We are getting ready to go pick HIM up, told that it was a girl at first buy found out it is a boy. He is a crack baby and we pray that all will turn out well, which they will.
