People in Cali, Colombia, are shocked to see the bond between a large African lion and a woman who saved it from abuse, involving long, affectionate kisses and hugs between the pair.
Ana Julia Torres, who runs the Villa Lorena animal shelter in Cali, fed and nursed Jupiter the African lion back to health years ago after it was found abused and emaciated in a traveling circus.

That's cute, but lions don't know from "hugging" and "kissing." I would still be very cautious of a wild beast like that.

Great, my cats are all love and kisses and then their brain strips a gear and they activate their claws and start attacking me. With a cat you can usually stop without major scratches and bites, a lion, that's a different story.

A dog will stand over his master's body if he was killed.
A cat will eat it.

If the bars would let the lion get his mouth open, this story might have a different headline.

Exactly -- many a cat owner has the scratches on his or her forearms from when "rub my tummy" suddenly changes into a claws out, feet kicking, ears back, wild eyed assault.
I hope for her sake that this nice lady doesn't put herself at risk again.
To: RoadTest
Well, on the one hand, a lion is just a really big cat, and cats are very affectionate.
On the other hand, when a dog licks you, he's kissing you. When a cat licks you, she's tasting you.
