FYI:
"As well as the earring, other items discovered in the lake included three sets of false teeth, a glass eye, a bedraggled toupee and a bra. "It has been a real eye opener as to what people lose when they are having fun," the spokeswoman said."

What colour is the glass eye?

They found something that belonged to Van Gogh, also.
FWIW, I'm skeptical of the original ownership of the earring. Of course, a ring that originally belonged to a famous actress is a better story than a ring that belonged to a non-famous person.

Cool, just saw "Witness for the Prosecution" on TV the other night with her in it. She must've taught Barbra Walters how to speak English.

OK, this is weird.
I heard the song, "Falling In Love Again" on tv, had no idea who sang it, but liked the lyrics, and downloaded it...and it was Marlene Dietrich. I didn't know she sang, so when I was talking to my 82 year old mom on the phone tonight, she said, she thought she sang in a couple films.
Like I said, WEIRD. Hadn't even heard of her for years.

Ernest Hemingway was a friend of hers (some say closer), he used to refer to her as the Kraut.
