My question is -- does each season stand alone? Could I start and go thru this season, yet still watch the previous seasons?Yes. There might be the occasional reference to characters in previous seasons who have died or made some impact, but generally you'll be fine. Happy 24'ing! Welcome to the addiction! LOL! :)
We have the world's cr*ppiest tv--everything is dark so it's hard to see what's happening when the scenes take place at night--so my husband wants to wait until it's on dvd and watch it on the computer. But I can't! :)

Would you care to elaborate.....more :))
That would p.o. Jack, and then I would have to choose between my right or left kneecap.

Needless to say, 24 24/7 is really going to to mess you up and really screw up your weekend homelife if you can't convince your significant other of the importance of watching 24..........LOL!!! When my husband and I first got into this show, we rented the dvds and sat there for an entire weekend just watching it, one episode after another. You can't stop!! So I'm happy he's just as addicted as I am. :)

But we don't want to get on Jack's bad side. Wouldn't be prudent. ;)

LOL.
I think it would have the same effect on a lot of posters too.

We also became addicted and after each episode my husband and I would look at each other and say"just one more".
Now my son and daughter-in-law are going through the same thing.
Can't wait til Sunday.

Jack Bauer for president.... Now there's a refreshing thought! :)
(Although Keifer Sutherland is Canadian, I believe) :)

My dad took thousands (yes, thousands) of slides dating back to the 1950s to Costco and they converted them to digital images on DVDs. When you put one of these DVDs into a DVD player, it plays like a slide show. Pretty cool.

We did the same thing. I got into 24 on season 4
Borrowed the box set and watched 2-3 episodes per night. My wife watched and got somewhat addicted, but not as bad as me.
Withdrawal symptoms were pretty bad.

DVR recorders are coming down in price. I got a really decent one last year that has VCR and DVD RW + for about $275-$300. I'm curious. What brand? Do you need to subscribe to a service to operate it (like TIVO)?

I think this removing of fingertips/fingers with cutting pliers may be one of the terrorists torture tactics.
Jack has used that technique before.

The 2 hour TV intro's are addictive. Then the 1 hour weekly's are just too short. They are the fastest hours on TV.
I used a technique last season:
I would record the program (while being online with the live 24 thread). Then, the next week, I would replay the previous week an hour or so before the new weekly episode.
The replay brought me up to day and refreshed my memory. Then I'd watch the new episode (and participate in the live 24 thread). Together, it made it more like a whole evening of 24, rather than just a single hour.
[I wish Fox would play 2 hours each week. One hour just isn't enough -- when one is hooked on Jack. lol]
