"The one thing that would bring certain death to us as kids was a tattoo. None of us have them."

My Dad felt that way about pierced ears. He did not want me to have them until I was an adult, but of course, I had MaryAnne pierce mine, and I pierced hers when we were 16. I hid it from him until I was 17 (took my earrings to school to put them on) and then I left for the Army.

No more piercings and no tattoos, though. :)

Personally? I'd take a tattoo over someone that has a totally pierced face.

My niece has her nose and eyebrow pierced. It's a pity because she was such a beautiful girl. You never look at a beautiful girl and think, "she'd look much better with a few pieces of metal hanging from her face here and there." It ruins them.

Whatever you do, don't try to reason with the anti-tat folks around here. It's a losing battle.

Let's see, "tramp stamp" took less than 20 posts. Soon there will be terms like "slut", "trash", oh wait... trashy has been used to.

I used to have my nose pierced. I think they are cute. I'm thinking about getting it done again before I am too long in the tooth.

My parents felt the same way about pierced ears. They associated them with people who "just got off the boat"!! (their words) Of course, I got self piercers (remember those?) and they just thought they were regular earrings. oooo was my dad mad. He used to say "you may as well pierce your nose too while your at it!" Little did he know that nose piercings would become popular. A tattoo would have put me in a foster home!
