I've heard a claim that early on in this case ESPN reported that an "anonamous" source (one of the members of the Duke team who was at the party?) admitted that he and other members did have sex with the stripper while she was unconscious. I'm wondering if there is any validity to there being such a report from ESPN? I've not heard any such claim having been reported anywhere. Can anyone help on this?

Have heard absolutely no such claim.

But Nifong said a lot of crazy stuff that has since been proven completely unfounded, so did the usual fasci-feminist suspects on the talk shows. Some of it they attributed to "people close to the case" or "investigators". So it wouldn't surprise me if Nifong made up an "anonymous source" to bolster his case. He's broken just about every other ethical and prosecutorial rule, why not?

What ever happened to tar and feathers, or being ridden out of town on a rail, or two rails, one for Nifong, one for the star slut of this story.

If they'd had sex with her, why was there NO DNA from ANY of the Duke players? And not just no semen from them in her vagina or rectum, but no trace DNA from hair, saliva, sweat,
etc . No one at that party had sex or any intimate contact with her. Five other men (none of them her boyfriend in name) did have sex with her on the day of the so-called rape-but not the Duke 3.

"I'm wondering if there is any validity to there being such a report from ESPN?"

A few weeks ago, they broke the news that Rich Rodriguez had accepted the head coaching job at Alabama. No truth to that either.

No way. Timelines and DNA evidence (or lack thereof) say that is impossible.

Pinging the usual crew. This one was already published, right? Glad to see it getting printed more widely.

If you didn't hear it, don't have any verification that the claim was made on ESPN, it's hard to fathom why you would repeat such a scurrilous claim.

Never heard any such claim. Sounds like it deserves ESPN's "wishful thinking" award. Remember the DNA.

Actually the lack of it. No way. She obviously had sex with several men. But none of them were the Duke players.

There have been all sorts of claim by the rape Nazis. There is no evidence to support any of them. And the facts are:

1. Nifong can not have a secret witness and the NC discovery law requires that he disclose such a witness long ago.

2. The lacrosse players who were at the party have long ago been deposed by the defense. If they were going to testify to such a thing and lied at their deposition, they committed perjury.

3. The DNA tests found not a single cell from any white lacrosse team member on Mangum but did find cells of 5 or 7 or some number of other males.

4. Having sex with her passed out does not fit very well when the only evidence is her ID of three people. How did she ID people who did things to her when she was passed out? How did she fight and spit out semen when she was passed out?

5. Having a secret witness does not jive with a DA dropping the rape charges because there is no evidence she was raped and she can not remember if there was penis penetration.

So regarless of the lies someone publishes about this case, one should always go back to the facts that are in public.

I am unaware of any such claim. Furthermore, DNA test results came back and none of it matched any of the lacrosse players.
