My New Year's was fine. Kinda boring. The plate was put in last July. So I guess it was in for about five months. When I had it put in, the doctor there said it would have to be in for at least a year but my worker's comp person assured my mother that it was perfectly fine at my age to get it out sooner than that, especially since the bone was healed and the plate was causing problems.
Yikes! That sounds a lot more painful than mine was. I just tripped and twisted my ankle. (Still have no clue how that managed to break it.) I hope he has a high tolerance for pain. Or a lot of pain meds.
Glad to hear you are doing better!
You know there must be this weird ankle thing going on. There's you, then my brother this week...and my husband who sprained his ankle on Christmas playing football with the nephews. Went to catch the football and took a really bad step and landed on the ground. His foot/ankle is still swollen and all colors of the rainbow. Doc says it's a sprain (and not broken). Thank goodness.
