I've noticed Deep Purple and Black Sabbath in some car/truck commercials too.

"Highway Star" while driving is one of the surest ways in the world to get a speeding ticket, even now when I am forty blah mumble, mumble, unintelligible.....

Great marketing idea: Ford Motor Company is using the Black Eyed Peas "Let's Get It Started" to advertise its dealership sales events. Only problem is most people (under 45) know the lyrics and the complicated lyrics go something like this:

Everybody, everybody, let's get into it.

Get stupid.

Get it started, get it started, get it started.

Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here. etc..

FOMOCO: A VERY HIP, VERY SMART COMPANY /sarc

· Peace, Man!
Meaning "Hello." Or "Good-bye." Although, it's associated with Hippies of the 60's, there were plenty of us hippies in the 70's using this term a lot. It always came with the two-fingers up "V" "peace sign" as a required accompaniment.

Peel Out

I like how you added that phrase "in the front window"!

I guess you'd seen men before, just not in cars!

REAL PUNK

Notice real punks actually wear regular clothes.
It was Sid Vicious and posers that made punk into a bloody spectacle of immature gayness.

I'm sorry, but alot of this is '80s. If not totally, then primarily. Pac-Man? Sorry, '80s.

Pac-Man (or Puck Man in Japan) is an arcade game developed by Namco and licensed for distribution by Midway, first released in Japan in 1979.

So technically, it is in the 70's.....

As I said, either it is totally in the '80s or in its prime in the '80s. Pac-Man (nor any of the arcade-game phenomena) was not huge until at least 1980. Ted McGinnley did not appear on Love Boat until into the '80s (after all, he is the show-KILLER, not show-starter!).

And on and on....

Sorry, it's just a pet peeve of mine when these "crossovers" are made!
