They had their moment and could not repeat it against Ohio State. For this year, the story should end there.

ND has now lost 9 consecutive bowls. That is almost unbelievabe for a school with such a quality program.

Notre Dame's abysmal performance in bowl games should come as no surprise. Since ND has consistently been the most overrated football team in the country (mainly because of their reputation and excessive television exposure), it's only natural for them to get their @sses kicked when they play in these big games.

If my information is correct, Notre Dame hasn't beaten a ranked team in something like 3+ years. Why anyone would expect them to be competitive in a BCS bowl game -- let alone win one -- is beyond me.

ND is the equivalent of a decent high school student who enrolls at MIT under an affirmative action program, then wonders why he can't muster a GPA any higher than 1.5 after three semesters.
