Thankfully, not many people are saying Boise State deserves a shot at the national championship - their own coach admitted they had the game put away and then nearly blew it - not very indicative of national championship material.
That said, between this and Notre Dame once again sucking in a bowl game (how many years now?), if we can get enough of these controversies, maybe we can get a playoff system (Notre Dame alone is a reason for one - they shouldn't be allowed near a BCS bowl).

They had their moment and could not repeat it against Ohio State. For this year, the story should end there.
ND has now lost 9 consecutive bowls. That is almost unbelievabe for a school with such a quality program.

That makes 9 consecutive bowl losses for the fighting Irish (losing by an average of ~16.5 points, too). Auto-bid, auto-loss. Notre Dame is the single biggest problem with the BCS

Notre Dame alone is a reason for one - they shouldn't be allowed near a BCS bowl. There should be a Notre Dame rule for BCS bowls. A team has to beat at least one ranked team to get in a bowl. ND hasn't beaten a team that ended up in the top ten since Lou Holtz was coaching them.

it took a lucky bounce on an oklahoma punt to get the sooners back in the game. except for that, i think boise state would have won in regulation.
all things considered, i'm glad the game went just the way it did. it couldn't have been more exciting, and the more deserving team won.
