No, yesterday's article did not mention she was shot.
I don't see the fiance named. Not saying he is in anyway responsible but he will certainly be questioned.

This whole situation reminds me very much of an incident that happened at another son's school (I have one at Duke now). When my oldest son was a student at Claremont McKenna College in CA, there was a professor who had championed race issues and spoken out many times about a (imagined) racist climate on the 5 college campus. She went out to her car one evening to find the tires slashed, windows broken, contents stolen and graffiti painted all over her car criticizing her support for blacks and jews.
This happened during midterms in March (2004) and caused havoc on the 5 college campus. Midterms were suspended and activist students marched. There was an entire day of speeches and posturing where anonymous quotes from students recounted incidences of racism (sound familiar?). A small, radical group of AA students stood on stage during some of the speeches with their backs to the audience. The students, to their credit, mostly were perplexed and insisted that such a climate simply did not exist on the campus.
Lo and behold, it turned out that the professor had vandalized her own car. It was all a phony act to draw attention to racism which she felt the colleges were not taking seriously. The fact that the students had a mutual respect for students of color and were living in harmony just would not do! There can be no outrage when there is no oppression!

The good news is that it was exposed for the fraud that it was shortly after the cries of racism were leveled. I think the Duke case will also ultimately be exposed similarly but not quite so decisively.

Once again someone needs to remind these dim bulbs that the lax players were not interested in black women and the fact that two showed up was probably part of the reason there was an incident.
Of course as you know that the lacrosse players specifically requested a white and an hispanice dancer is afterall a further social disaster. :-)

There was a mention of gunshots being heard, but not that she had been shot. There was the suggestion that she accidently fell down the stairs, IIRC.

Yeah that is some irony that the dumb woman who typed that essay including rants about health care and child care and every other liberal talking point accuses others of trying to us the statement of the 88 "to foster their own demagogic political agenda." Unfortunately for her we can see through her rationalizations and outright falsehoods.

Police are looking for black female operating a burgundy Ford Explorer that was seen leaving the area around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers responded to a report of gunshots fired near the apartment complex at about 8 a.m. but didn't find anything, police said.

The ad we signed explicitly was not addressed to the police investigation or the rape allegations.
I'm not making this up. She discussed her dyslexia in one of her books, '36 Views of Mount Fuji: On Finding Myself in Japan'.

"Police are looking for black female operating a burgundy Ford Explorer that was seen leaving the area around 8:30 a.m. Thursday."
That's why I didn't hear anything on TV last night and thought it occured today. If they were looking for a white guy, it would have been all over the MSM. Jesse, Sharpton, and the New Black Panthers would be out in full force! Sorry, I'm not racist, but we all know that's why this Dukelax thing is way out of hand....besides having a psychotic DA in Durham.

In a perfect world, Duke should be interviewing professors for 88 new openings for the spring semester....

You can really tell how PC the hiring of these people [the 88] have been at Duke. The one named in the law suit had a PhD from UMass and now this one with a chair has a PhD from SUNY-Binghamton.
Now I have nothing personally against these degrees, but they are not the types of degrees one would expect to find at a place like Duke that is on the make. I doubt you would fine many such degrees at Duke among the not PC crowd.
