The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Heh... - if'n I'd have known he was gonna quote it, I'd have written it better. It's too wordy... He could cut the bit after the boxing gloves and have a better tag line :~)

I think the boxing glove part is what makes it! It's a classic. I'm proud of ya!

It is a good visual, eh ;~). Those NH types are really big on riding around in a rope halter... I just don't get it, and I picture them plowing into me on trail, pulling their little hearts out against horses who barely know they're there.

Riding in a Natural Horsemanship halter may look impressive, but it's not very practical outside of an arena. The same goes for riding at liberty.

I think he downloaded all of it, but we haven't sat and listened to it yet... Maybe that'd be a good thing this morning! Just came in from the pasture... took blankets off and pushed them out to move... and move they did! Hope I got good pics.

I gotta run. Gotta go to a funeral visitation for one of my aunts. They've started having the visitation and the funeral all at the same time around here, and that's great if it's on the weekend, but it makes it kinda hard on us working folks. Seeya later...

See.... you guys with your better zoooms are going to start showing me up in a hurry, I may need to get me one of them! I like to stay somewhat distant when I'm taking my Free Horses pics, first because they always stop if I come close... and because I don't trust Cyn... she sometimes comes over like she'd like to include me in the herdplay.

I brought the whip today, purely for self defense.... Cyn seemed very intimidated, don't you think?

Oh yeah, I remember him saying that. I kinda doubted it though, with all those rocks there. But I'm sure you could mire up pretty good if you rode a horse up into there, and some yeahoo would do it too, if they knew where it was. People get up into all those shelters that are right along the trail. They don't seem to realize that there's water coming out of most of them and they're GONNA be muddy and their horse's feet are GONNA tear it up. I'd rather walk up into them and leave them looking nice for the next person. And don't even get me started on people who leave their trash everywhere they go.
