The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Welcome back :~) Looking forward to the pictures of the new room, and the offending red... and the truck stuck in the ditch :~)

Those are just the branches from the front yard. We haven't gotten to the side yards yet, or under the trees. Those were just the ones on the the grass, and those we raked from the driveway! The ones in the paddock and back forty we'll leave, they'll get worked in. I thought about whether they might be of some use somewhere, but I don't think so, I think it'd just hold moisture longer. I wondered if I ran them through a chipper if I could at least use it as bedding. :~) But - we settled on bonfire.

MissTargets! Lots of snow today eh? Would love to see pictures, you know.

Today I'm going to tackle one of of the side yards, I think.

Where does cjshapi live? I will have two stalls and a pasture if you guys want to spend the night. I also have a loft at the cabin with two bunks.....let me know if that sounds good. I haven't met cjshapi but did meet you and it seems we'd get along fine...ride during the day, take a wine break, ride some more and then sit around the firepit and more wine.....lol

I forgot to mention that we have about 150 acres of trails to ride and our neighbor has 60 that we use too.

Well, I didn't get pictures of me stuck, it was suppose to be just a quick run down there and right back, I never thought about taking the camera.

I need to get the mind set like you, that the camera goes everywhere, all the time:)

I did take some pics of the bathroom, that I will post later. Now, I have to go get a blood test, then something to eat, before we get snowed in.

I'm babysitting right now and then have to go to State Farm in a bit. I don't think my granddaughter likes people talking on the phone. This is the 2nd time it has rang this week that I have found it in the trash.

Wait...I see something in the sky. A bright light. What is it? SUNSHINE!!!!:')

I did a trip to State Farm also to pay my bill. That was after I went for blood tests. It is quite cold out (low 20's), so I had my longjohns on. The lab tech pulled my sweat shirt and longjohn sleeves up to draw the blood. With it being so tight on my arms that way, I had a knot as big as a golf ball at the site. The lab is in my doctor's office, so they had me sit with an ice pack for about 15 mins. I take aspirin everyday, so that did not help with the bleeding internally. The ice pack will have to go back on a couple of more times today. Of course it is on my right arm and now it is quite sore.

I've never seen one pop up that big. What did your doctor say?

I went to get some insurance quotes. Cobra wants 1200 a month to carry us. I can't afford that. I had a quote from Humana for half that before I went back to work at the hospital. I wonder why it is so high. Anyway while I'm there she asked if we still had 7 cars. Ah no, I told her we have 8 now:') Trade ins are rip offs so we just tend to keep um after they are paid for.

This is the new vanity. This was before I cleaned up and packed things away. There is still some finish work I need to do. When I decide on a new color, I want, I will paint the walls.

New wall cabinet. Yes, I know my tile is dated, but hey, it's retro! There was no way, I was going to rip out ceramic tile.

Not a very good picture of the shower redo. The workers picked out the tile and I just love it. My floor in the bathroom is black and this black and white tile go very well together.

Fixtures are very expensive. These caught my eye and matched the sink.

What did your doctor say?

He said that happens sometimes and not to worry about it. In a day or two, the blood will move down and it will get really ugly. If I have anymore problems, I will call him. The swelling is going down. Next time, I will take my shirt off!
