LET'S ROLL!!!
Happy healthy New Year to all.
Happy New Year, Chair. And thank you for your dedication in keep this thread up and running year in, year out.
Interesting thing I saw this morning...Page Hopkins was all excited because they were having some famous astrologer on. She and Kirin were going on and on about their signs, then they turned to Kelly and asked him. He didn't know, because he "has other beliefs."
I knew he was a Christian, and I was glad to see him withstand the astrology junk, and he did it with class. It put me in a good frame of mind to start the New Year.
Good Morning Jane. I am about ready to get in gear to take the tree and other holiday stuff down and store it away for another year.
I'll check in when I stop to rest.
That's what I am getting ready to do, too.
Good morning all you wonderful people...
Happy New Year. May this be a year of rich blessing, a time of drawing near to our gracious and merciful God.
This post is meant for each of you ATRWers but I haven't learned to use the "ping" list and only a few names appear on the "To:" line.
Everyone needs to pencil in on our calendars the upcoming 3-4 days of Nancy Pelosi's party. /s
Hillary, the alleged 'smartest woman in the world' and aspiring President of the U.S.A., will no doubt be turning GREEN at Pelosi's FIRST WOMAN accomplishment. LOL
Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Good Morning, ONG. Happy New Year to you and yours, and may it be a good one full of God's blessings.
Thank you Cm and may the Lord bless you and yours richly in the coming days.
Hubby & I started the new year by taking a long walk this AM....
..Our son came home to visit and has lost 34 pounds out of sheer discipline and exericise.!!...We are so proud of him.
So we resume the walks and delete the calories again :))
I'm glad Kelly has 'other beliefs'....
..but I worry about our public school children...
This quote from our local paper...
"Parents, students and music lovers came to Sherwood Elementary School earlier this month to hear fifth and sixth grade students perform a holiday program.
Folk songs, holiday songs, Kwanzaa songs, Hanukkah songs and even an African noel were performed, according to Bonnie Spanogle, who instructed the students."
Good mercy!
Have we truly slid so far down that slippery slope where Kranzaa, and an African noel....and even Hanukkah can be named....
..but Christmas....Christmas can't even be mentioned!!!!!!!
Our poor kids don't even know what's hitting them!!!!!!
..No doubt, the innocuous 'holiday' songs were along the lines of Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, etc.
I told my husband ...let me gripe just once more, and I'll stop, I truly will.
So that's it....
I told my husband ...let me gripe just once more, and I'll stop, I truly will.
Gripe all you want. It's a good cause.
You have no idea how pleased I am that you are posting more often.
Happy New Year, oldngray, and my very best wishes for good health in the new year.
This last year was filled with challenges for many of us and the support and love offered at ATRW is deeply appreciated.
Off to handle some post-Christmas clean-up projects.
Some lists are way bigger than the ATRW ping list (JohnHuang2's, for example). The same few names show up when he posts but all of us get the pings.
Good morning, and thank you for your inspiring New Year's greeting. Sometimes we forget that the Lord is in control and what seems like a terrible event for us turns out to be the best thing for us in the long run. I am reminded of how we were all disheartened when Clinton remained in office, but as it turns out Gore would have been WORSE, plus he would no doubt, with the power of incumbency, defeated George Bush and would have been in charge on September 11, 2001.
One of my New Year's efforts will be to gain patience and acceptance of those things which seem to be bad news, especially on the political scene.
Prayers for a safe, happy, and healthy new year to everyone.
It's about time to warm up the TV to watch the Rose Bowl Parade preview as well as the parade on HGTV! Best coverage of any parade by any network I've seen!
Will check in later as time allows!
One positive thing I heard on the news this morning is that two of the Ford sons were standing and greeting people as they came into the Rotunda, shaking peoples' hands and thanking them for coming to pay their respects.
The Fords are truly nice and gracious people. How lucky we were to have him as president, even if only for two years.
