On Tuesday, former president Gerald R. Ford, Jr. died at the age of 93. He led a full life beginning on July 14, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska.

The future president was a star athlete and the captain of the Grand Rapids South High School football team. He was offered contracts with the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers but declined so that he could attend Yale Law School. Shortly after his graduation, an outside event changed his plans. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Gerald Ford enlisted in the Navy.



Shortly after returning from the war, Ford decided to run for a seat in the House of Representatives. His 24-year tenure included his rise to the House Minority Leader. After Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned, President Nixon chose Ford to beceome the new vice president. When Nixon himself later resigned, Gerald Ford became the first (and only) person to ever rise to the presidency without ever being elected as president or vice president.


His presidency was notable for not only his pardon of Nixon but, according to many, his restoration of trust in the presidency. President Ford worked hard to ensure that his tenure in the office was open and honest. Later in life, Gerald and Betty Ford moved to their Rancho Mirage home in California. It was there that President Bush visited the couple in April of this year.



On December 26, 2006, Gerald Ford died at his home in Rancho Mirage. Ford will have services in Washington, DC and will be buried at his Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Got to google her down, never heard of her. BTW,I'm just chilling and killing a few brain cells as I watch "Godzilla" (1956) on a local, Pittsburgh made and hosted, horror movie how that is on one of our local indy UHF stations.

I'm sure that Brooke Burke is all over the internet. I'm not sure whether the pictures will be good pictures of her. She used to host an E! show called "Wild on E!." She would go all over the world to various parties to report on the parties. That part of the show wasn't always that enjoyable for me. She'd also go places and do all kinds of outdoor activities. Those segments were great.

I don't think I've ever seen Godzilla. I guess there are worse ways to kill brain cells, but I can't say that I'm all that anxious to broaden my mind in that direction.

I need to be getting more stuff done. I've been home for 24 hours now, and I still haven't unpacked my car from my trip back to Tennessee to see my folks. I'm also thawing some rats to feed my snakes.

For the most part, I wanted the love photos an dnone of the funeral. I wanted it to be a memory of his life. I tis very hard to watch the funeral.

I know most don't understand the diffiuclties that Presidents face, but my background gives me greater insight as to how tough it really is. I admire Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, and both Bush gentlemen for not changing their public/Presidential ways from the way they were when nobody was watching. I feel fortunate to get firsthand tales of life with the Eisenhowers, Nixons, Reagans, and Bush families. Dad chose to hide Kennedy, Ford and Carter from his stories, but in the end, I know what I have seen and what I have learned. There are only two in the past 50 years that I can't count as "real and genuine" people.

What kind of dancing do you like to do? I know nothing about dancing, so any explanation will need to be very basic. I can't dance at all, but I can guard the radio to make sure no one changes the station.

i'd assume that since you're on FR, you know how to turn on the computer, let the system load, and use the internets...

can you type up a document in Word and make a spreadsheet with Excel?
