As I was a kid before the electronic age, my favorite toys were tinker toys, Lincoln logs, little army men and toy rifles and pistols.

Back when boys were allowed to be boys.

My older brother had a Stretch Armstrong. I always wondered was the goo was inside him to make him stretch.

You mean stuff like this? I got a M3 cap shooter one Christmas. It would shoot up a whole roll of caps in one steady pull, so you know where all my allowance money went.
It sure beat a lot of the crap they got today.

Firecrackers. Anybody could get a mound of dirt to set up an army man battle, but it was useless without firecrackers.

A few years ago, I had the hardest time finding those little toy army men.

I finally found them at one of those dollar stores.
