December 14, 2006 The End of The Dixie Chicks
The Dixie Chicks have been together since 1989... But it seems Natalie Maines' political outspokenness has brought the end of the band!
Emily Robison, Martie Maguire & Natalie Maines have announced that they are going to split up after the Grammy Awards in February 2007.
The Chicks are tired & wrung out, theyve come to the end & they want a break from each other to spend more time with their families.
But the real reason behind the split is political.
Robison & Maguire have supported many of Maines' political beliefs, even though its put their lives & the lives of their families in jeopardy.
"Theyve received death threats, & its made them all nervous wrecks.
The Dixie Chicks are nominated for a few awards in the upcoming Grammy's; Record of the Year (Not Ready To Make Nice), Album of the Year (Taking The Long Way), Song of the Year (Not Ready To Make Nice), Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal (Not Ready To Make Nice), Best Country Album (Taking The Long Way), and Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical (Rick Rubin on Taking The Long Way.)

I suppose that knocks the canned Ro-Tel tomatoes out of first place, then...
Okay, okay, I'm kidding!
They're not worth the emotional output......
Spinal Tap?
The Dixie Goths.
Can't argue with that. ;)
Do you know if this Waleg.com of Tunisia is on the up and up?
thank you. I am grateful to be in your company.
Natalie is the short, fat one right?
Rumors on the net say Chicks could split after the Grammys
By M&C News Dec 15, 2006, 1:08 GMT
Word has started to leak over the web that country music trio The Dixie Chicks could be splitting up after the Grammy Awards with the Natalie Maines labeled as the root of the problem, according to various inside sources who have yet to be identified.
Although no real statement has come from the Chicks, unnamed sources have said that that the group (Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire) are tired and want a time off from each other to spend more time at home with their own families.
Rumors have also been swirling that Robison and Maguire are struggling with Maines continued political statements (although they have publicly backed the lead singer and agreed with her) and how past incidents have taken focus off the groups music.
The Dixie Chicks recently received numerous Grammy Award nominations including Album of the Year for Taking the Long Way, and Record of the Year for Not Ready to Make Nice.

If this is true I wish the others well. I am sure when the group started nobody passed around a politcal quiz.
They look wholesome in the first picture and like strung out junkies is this one.
The Ditzy Chicks are truly skanks.
Not to minimize the seriousness of receiving death threats, but I'm not sure I buy it. They aren't significant enough to hate badly enough to want to kill them.
I think that the chickens have finally come home to roost, that's all. The writing on the wall was way to obvious to ignore.
Shame on all their "new fans" over at DU who held them up as anti-war heroines but, in the end, didn't want to hear a bunch of little hillbilly chicks, because they're too sophisticated for country-ish music.
Toby Keith is off with Jimmy Buffet having a beer and a laugh over this...
This is the same band that fired their origianl lead singer because she wasn't young enough!
Thanks, I hope it's true, Natalie is a bum. I'd just never heard of this Waleg but I'm not into the entertainment sites.

I'm sorry, maybe it's just Friday silliness, but seeing Natalie's name in the same context of "rolling in dough" reminds me of that old joke about how do you find a fat girl's "fun parts". Answer: Roll her in flour and look for the wet spot.
