Rumors on the net say Chicks could split after the Grammys

Word has started to leak over the web that country music trio The Dixie Chicks could be splitting up after the Grammy Awards with the Natalie Maines labeled as the root of the problem, according to various “inside” sources who have yet to be identified.
Although no real statement has come from the Chicks, unnamed sources have said that that the group (Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire) are “tired” and want a time off from each other to spend more time at home with their own families.
Rumors have also been swirling that Robison and Maguire are struggling with Maines’ continued political statements (although they have publicly backed the lead singer and agreed with her) and how past incidents have taken focus off the group’s music.
The Dixie Chicks recently received numerous Grammy Award nominations – including Album of the Year for ‘Taking the Long Way,’ and Record of the Year for “Not Ready to Make Nice.”
