So when a 4-4/7-5 Big 12 team (Kansas State) gets beat up by an 11-2 Rutgers team, and then a 9-3 Big 12 team gets routed by a 9-3 Pac-10 team, you post no vitriol whatsoever for the Big 12. But when teams like Oregon and Arizona State, who both went 4-5 in the Pac-10, lose bowl games to 11-2 BYU and 11-3 Hawaii, that's proof that the Pac-10 is the worst conference in America. With Cal's win, the Pac-10 is now 5-1 this year against the Big 12, which I guess is further evidence for you to rate that conference ahead of the Pac as well. What a bonehead. One good thing though, is a Big 12 team got to play an SEC team today, so they could get a win.

"LOL....would be nice if you actually gave Cal credit for beating the crap out of them instead of insulting the conference...."

Ain't it the truth. But Pac-10 losses are the only games that count with some of these people. Great game by Cal tonight.

"And then Pac-10 fans wonder why the rest of the country snickers and calls their conference "video game football."

I didn't see you on here tonight, which I guess is not surprising after Cal's video game rout of Texas A&M, two 9-3 teams comparably rated at #20 and #21.

Correct......while I thought UCLA should have beat FSU I never thought Oregon or Ariz St had a chance against 2 teams with 3 losses between them and at the top of their conference......but the Holiday Bowl was the first between 2 Top 25 teams and Cal dominated.....I agree that an 0-3 start is somewhat embarrassing but hearing all the crap about Pac 10 not good since they lost to Hawaii for instance....well how come these same guys didn't say anything when Oregon St beat them.....at home to boot...

.......I don't pay much attention to most Sports Bloggers since 75% of them insult everyone but their home teams.. I would call them Homers but we don't use that outdated term in Calif anymore........lol......guess that tough Aggie Team was just too much for us Cal Bears......NOT!!!!!!

Two teams that beat Texas get thumped tonight. Makes me wonder how Ohio State didn't beat UT by even more than 17.

No need to be defensive - it was just an observation.

Cal looked pretty good last night. I'll see how USC and Oregon State fare before making any final judgments.

"It was just an observation."

Yeah, but where is your 'observation' regarding other conferences? As I mentioned in an above post, last night Kansas State, a 4-4/7-5 Big 12 team that beat Texas got routed by Rutgers, who finished the year 11-2. Nobody's hammering on Kansas State, and rightfully so, because they were basically a .500 team and they got hooked up with a strong team having a great year. But if Oregon, who went 4-5 in the Pac-10 and finished the season losing 4 of 5 games gets routed by an 11-2 BYU, a team that won its last ten games this year, then that's evidence of the Pac-10 being a weak conference. If Arizona State, another 4-5 Pac-10 team, and being coached by a guy who was just fired, loses to an 11-3 Hawaii team, at Hawaii, you feel that's a defining game for the Pac-10. Again, last night, two 9-3 teams ranked 20th and 21st play and Cal routs Texas A&M, again, the Big 12. At least that game was somewhat of an even match on paper and in the rankings. But again, you have no 'observation' on the Big 12.

We'll see how the rest of the games go. I'm really looking forward to a few of them that might end up being a lot more interesting than people think, such as Boise State-Oklahoma, and Notre Dame-LSU.

They hadn't played any games when I commented, or I would have included something on them as well.

Hopefully we'll see some close games...with these matchups I suspect we'll get at least a couple exciting ones.

One thing for sure is that it must have been pretty frustrating for Florida State's outgoing offensive coordinator to watch their running back Booker actually come to play once! Booker returns to California to play a game in front of 128 friends/family, and makes all these comments about showcasing for the NFL scouts, and goes out and runs harder than he has all year. Bowden must have been shaking his head, wondering how much better their season would have been if this guy had stepped up during the regular season. I saw this same point made in a Sporting News editorial about the game. NFL scouts should be wary of this guy's makeup, as I'm sure they are.

A great game by Cal indeed. Good enough to erase the memory of the loss to Tennessee (a fluke) and the loss to USC (a pretty tough Pac 10 rival). Kudos to Tedford and his boys!

split screens my friend....

That's the fun of having a TIVO with 2 feeds, you can feed one into Video One and the other into Video Two, while having the PS2 in Video Three and the S-Cable from the computer into the TV for Video Four :)

I have only two of those four up right now though :)
