Ive worked enough with Oracle support on Oracle to know there is *no* way I would want to go through them for Apache, OpenLdap, CVS, or the hundreds of apps Red Hat supports. Hell have you seen the install path for 'their' apache? Its buried so well its harder to find than Hoffa..

You're not kidding. Have you ever tried to install just their apache? It still builds a 200 character path, and installs a GB of crap with it.

I've looked at it, but I haven't installed it personally.

The thing is that if they are truly going to give this a shot and it isn't just window dressing, I'd be willing to bet they'll throw some money around to get people to streamline what they offer....

They would have too....
