Okay, here it is:
Girlfriend is a budding pastry chef, who made a subtle hint yesterday about wanting a Mixmaster. I'm thinking "thats no big deal, what the hell?" So, I go up to Amazon, and theres all these colors, and all these freakin attachments, and DAMN that thing is expensive!! I thought I was going to get away cheap on this deal, ya know?
So, you owners of these things, what is so great about them anyway, and what attachments should I buy with the thing, and what freaking COLOR and, and, and, by the time I'm ready to buy, should I just give her the cash?
Why is this thing so much more expensive then the other brands? Does food taste better with this thing? Is this some female status symbol or something? I could buy a lot of man stuff with that money, so ladies, tell me what's so great about this sucker, before I get her a gift certificate instead!
I abosolutely adore mine and I use it all the time.....
it's strong and hard to kill (though it can be done).
Attachments? If she's into pastry, the paddles etc for that. Otherwise there's a grinder/sausage mill and pasta attachment.
My wife loves Pampered Chef!
I sure will. My husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him more products. I picked them out and ordered, his work is done and we're both happy. Hahahaha
How in the heck did that clam get on that pig leg?
All my wife has asked for is a Calphalon skillet she saw advertised on TV. It starts out empty, flips itself over, and dumps out a fully-cooked meal. Again and again and again.
She thinks it may be a bit pricey though...;)
Never touch that stuff. Just poor, but I eat pretty well on *nothing.*
I may be late with this, but here is my advice...
I have one of these mixers, it is close to 20 years old, and still works like a charm, when it dies (whenever that my be) I will drop the cash, and buy another one. I make the best chocolate chip cookies with this mixer...
It is worth every penny
Only attachment I need is the sheild
Well...that makes two of us because I don't have a clue as to what a 'cooking stone' is.
ROFL!
The grinder grinds almonds or meat or spices.
Pastry cooks need a way to grind fresh nutmeat.
I'll do my best to explain what the cooking stone is.
They're the size of a large pizza and round as well, made out of material kind of like terra cotta planters only much better material. When you cook a frozen or a homemade pizza on them, they help the crust on the underside get crispy. There are also recipes for cookies and other items you can use the stone for.
Unfortunately, I ordered one around 4-5 years ago and while I was "pre-seasoning" it, it broke. Since I have a difficult time getting to the post office I didn't bother to return it to the manufacturer for a replacement.
Mine probably had developed a hairline crack during the shipping process or somewhere else along the line because I've never heard anyone else have the type of problem I had. Everyone else I've ever heard say anything about Pampered Chef has raved about how much they love their cookware. (They have casserole type dishes as well as other types, all of which everyone says they do a better job than anything esle they've ever used.)
Hope I was able to shed a little light.
Thanks!
No matter how hard I try, I cannot keep up.
I hate being wrong.

Well that's for the best, since I broke up with my girlfriend last night, and now the mixer is ALL MINE!!
Good thing you didn't buy her lingerie.
WHAT??
Yeah, I met her parents. Red flags.

The "Grain Mill" attachment is great if you are a homebrewer!
They make a grain mill? I want one!
Homebrewers of the world. Fermenting revolutions.
