From Mrytle to Rocky Mount is over 210 miles...would have been driving closer to 4 hours at that point. They could have been run off the road as well.

Agree, I rechecked my map - see post 47.
I noticed the word "collision" and wondered if there is another car in there, too. Or was it a hit & run? Or maybe it was their car colliding with a guardrail on a bridge. Very sad.
If there was a witness, I hope he or she will come forward now.
I also heard a tape of a 911 call by a man who told the authorities that there was a car in the swamp. He gave them location information and their excuse is they looked, but couldn't find anything!! When this missing couple made news, they didn't go back with helicopters to the area to look. They didn't report the call. This is shameful incompetence. I hope the family sues for their expenses since they did the job the local authorities are paid to do.
