Found in a NC swamp. No foul play...believe to be an auto accident. Prayers for their family. They looked like a loving, happy couple.
I remember that story you mention from out west.
There was an administrator at a small college in Oklahoma City that went
missing on trip east (to Memphis?).
Finally they found him (in his car) in a river. It appears that he just
was unfortunate enough to exit the roadway before a bridge and the
car ended up in the river without leaving much of a discernible trail.
This was probably about 20 years ago.
I can't wait for Bray to chime in. He would say everyone knows if you put too many christmas presents in the back of your car you could lose control and have an accident in a swamp.
But of course he would say that his gifts would include scuba tanks and a life raft and he would have been ok.
Why don't they ask Bray where Hoffa is...he must know!
Unless it was the victims calling for help!!!
This is just so sad. Prayers for the family.
I wonder if Sara Rubrecht has any relatives in North Carolina associated with Highway Patrol.
Oh God...
There was a case in Southern California that you might be thinking of: Missing screenwriter's vehicle found in Mojave Desert canal
What was the weather like in that area on Thursday ?
He may have had diabetic shock or simply fell asleep at the wheel.
Very sad for the family.
That sounds as though the driver may have fallen asleep and ran off the road. That happens more often than most people realize.
A very sad ending to a trip that probably began in high spirits and anticipation of good times at journey's end. I just hope that their relationship with their God was in good order.
I also heard that on Fox News.
Happened to me many years ago...but I lived and I launched into the wood with cruise control on at 55mph!
How very sad. Prayers going up for their children and grandchildren.
Many years ago, there were something like 9 teenagers that went missing, and all of a sudden, their van was found in a van submerged in a retention lake in Florida. Their car had driven off the road. They are very hard to see at night if you don't know the area. There are also 3 men from RI that went to Florida for a fishing trip who also disappeared in a similar fashion, and they have never been found. Having been in Florida several times, I can see how it is possible.
It was very cold and VERY windy.
South Carolina Ping
Add me to the list. / Remove me from the list.
That Arizona accident you referenced was investigated and determined that the driver got on the interstate headed in the wrong direction and left the road where there would have been a guardrail had he been traveling in the proper lanes.
