One of the foremost experts on Opera is none other than Rudy Giuliani. Perhaps if he gets elected POTUS we can expect great Opera and Classical Music at the White House.
Rudy was a regular patron of the wonderful little Amato Opera in New York. That is definitely a sign of an opera lover.
Well count me as one who loves Alagna! My dvd of his Romeo & Juliet is nigh worn through I've played it so many times. Loved him in the Elixir of Love, loved Angela in it as well. And more than once I've heard of his being very amiable when patrons have encountered him on his way in or out of a performance.
His recently released dvd of his performance of Alfano's Cyrano is another treat. He's done much for little known French opera for which I'm also grateful.
The La Scala gang has always been known for being rude, it is too bad he let them win.
And Roberto Alagna is a real hotsy totsy. The photo above doesn't do him justice.
