The dream of a white Christmas has prompted the sale of a lorry load of snow via eBay.
Bids for the 10-tonne home delivery stood at nearly £700 on the auction site today. The offer also includes a decorated Christmas tree, a front door wreath and Christmas lights.
They will be delivered on December 24 along with the snow, which will be placed outside the buyer's home by "trained staff", the eBay listing says.
The snow will be provided by UK company SNO!zone which runs three indoor ski slopes. It will be delivered in refrigerated trucks to any property in England and Wales which has reasonable access and enough outdoor space.
The eBay listing warns: "There is no guarantee attached to how long the snow will last and there is no provision for the snow to be removed."
It will arrive with the buyer on Christmas Eve afternoon providing heavy rain or real snowfalls do not prevent delivery.
Proceeds from the auction will go to the NSPCC children's charity.
EBay spokesman Richard Kanareck said: "If you were dreaming of a white Christmas, this unique listing can make your dreams come true."
The online auction ends on December 18.
This isn't a new thing..My dad owned and operated an ice house when I was a young girl..They had lots of request for snow to be delivered on Christmas eve (of course it was rich people that bought it)they also made ice sculptures for parties and that was a very long time ago...So when I wanted to see snow in Houston my dad would take us by the house it was delivered to.
