Psychics are bunk. They prey on the desperate and grieving.
Unfortunately, you are right in many cases. There are many people conned by such frauds, but I do believe there are people that have a special gift of intuitivity, or whatever you would call it. My mother & I have experienced it ourselves, I have just stayed away from it myself - not something I want to do. But I have had things come to me in dreams and sudden thoughts that have turned out to be true, things I would have no other way of knowing.
Some psychics have helped police departments solve crimes that otherwise would have gone unsolved. Do not discount it so quickly.
No question that many do. But no reason to 'throw the baby out, with the bath water'. There are gifted and 'good' psychics out there; albeit, no guaranteesas to their assistance; but an extra if not 'extra-sensory' opinion can be helpful; and in many situations/cases; it is documented that they have been just that.
No much different than stopping to ask directions or having someone take a look at the map you have; whereby you might be missing something. . .
