Having a big box office doesn't prove anything. I still think he's nuts. Hope you enjoyed the movie.

Haven't seen it. Has anyone ever said that Tarentino was nuts?

Many successful artists are considered "nuts".
Goes with the territory, MM.

How many times have us Freepers been called flakes or nuts in the media? Maybe you all should drop the psycho-analysis babble since none of you know him personally.

The first amendment allows Mel Gibson to produce whatever type of movie he desires. It also allows me to point out how reprehensible I think "Apocolypto" is. You never saw the movie and yet you say its reprehensible? Try this; Open up your mind, see the picture, then judge it on what it is from what you witnessed, instead of what you think it is from people who may or may not have seen it! You can't point out what you can't see, 1st admendment or not! Go see it and then review it!

I saw it yesterday afternoon. It's got lots of violence, but at it's heart is about a man trying to save friends and family. The primitiveness of pre-modern civilisation is also shown with all of its ugliness.
The bad guys are _really_ bad guys. ;-)

Leni Riefenstahl had her fans. She still does. And with Mel, there is the curiosity factor, especially since the critics have called it one of the most violent films ever. Mel's good at faux snuff films.
