I love how many held up the violence as an example that Mel was mentally ill.

Crazy like a fox is more like it. Gratz once again.

Having a big box office doesn't prove anything. I still think he's nuts. Hope you enjoyed the movie.

What I find nutty is the number of posters who haunt these Apocalypto threads howling about a movie they have no intention of seeing.

This was a very good movie and I was glad to see that it isn't anywhere near as violent as some reviewers pretend it is. Certainly it deserves the "R" but it breaks no ground on violence. I recently rented "American Werewolf in London" and Mel's movie violence reminded me of that.

I really liked the little references to his past movies (Signs, Braveheart, We Were Soldiers) and especially the reference to Satan among the civilized people.

I'll definitely catch this again but this time I'll look for a theater with DLP projectors. The Theater I was in didn't have them and the picture quality suffered for it. This is said to be the best digital movie and maybe digital projection will do it justice.

My, oh my. Seems that some feel that Mel's God given talent is evil.

With each of his movies, Mel has tried to teach true history, as it comes from his heart. Some don't want to see the truth, just condemn the source.

I haven't seen this movie, yet. Maybe, it's not in the same league as "The Passion", but it will be educational, as are all of his historicals.

Oh, yeah! It also seems that there were those that condemned "The Passion", even before its release.

flame on
