Holy moly! Her full pension PLUS $50??? It's too expensive to get old! By the time we hit that age (not so long for me!), they'll be euthanizing us.

Exactly thankfully because dad and I live at the house and it is our only home they could not touch that for the funds but had she been on her own the house would have had to be sold and money used until it ran out and then the State would pay. Probably not the top though so she would have had to have been moved.

This is a problem in Britain because of what we have to pay national insurance and income tax we cannot afford private health care on top that would assist with a residential home. All residential homes are now private in Britain but you get allowances according to your income as with mum she got the full allowance because all she had was her pension.
