Thanks. It was fun, but a lot of work. I mean physical work, a lot of pulling and I have sore hands and arm and back muscles now!

I just read some books over the past few years and thought it through, it really isn't all that difficult. I also have a good sewing machine that can handle the heavy sewing.

I'm doing a swivel rocker next in coordinating fabric, I have the roll here staring at me, probably will get to it after Christmas. For now, though, I have three things to finish knitting for gifts, less than two weeks away! Yikes!

Thanks for this thread, BTW. Nice to know there are some Right Wing Knitters! LOL

Some day I will sit down and figure out how to post photos. but I forgot to get one before it went out the door. I'll email my daughter to take one and email it to me.

I've got 2 scarves going that are both for me! LOL At the rate I am going I hope to be done while it's still cold enough for them to be useful. ;-)

Earlier in the year I made 2 baby blankets for my brand new neice and nephew (SIL had twins in October) and a shawl for myself. I found Moda Dea "Dream" lilac yarn on a 50% off sale and made the shawl out of that. It came out so gorgeous! It's so soft and cuddley.

I like that lace. What are you going to sew it on to?

I've only used lace edgings as a knitted-on edging for things. I have Barbara Abbey's Knitting Lace from Schoolhouse Press and have used quite a few of her edgings for different things.

I just finished all my Christmas last night....2 large quilts; 17 hand stitched tablecloths that I drew the patterns on; 60 hand stitched place mats to match the tablecloths; 4 afghans.

Between hubby and I we have 10 children; 15 grandchildren...so my time is spent all year making hand made items for their Christmas presents....

Already started on adults for next year....10 needlepoint pictures, framed and stored for shipping....15 'little' quilts for the grands...that should do it for next year....

You said brag, so I did...lol....I love this thread...

That's pretty much like what it was...butchering saws are similar....Glad we live today instead of back then...

Thanks! It didn't look that nice until I starched and pinned it...amazing what starch does for cotton thread...

It's a collar pattern. I actually did the pattern to sell it to reenactors (the pattern, not the lace), but it was such a challenge that I am very fond of it. It's one of those models...like the wall of single socks I have...I'll have to find my pic of all these socks I knit that don't have a mate...I have sold a number of the patterns, but never did the second sock!

Hey, felt is cool! When I was watching the White House Christmas on HGTV the other night they had still photos of the First Family's privvate quarters decorations, and there were FOUR FELT AND SEQUIN STOCKINGS hung on the mantle!!

So there you go, it is tres cool!

My wife & I have recently started making some candles. It's a pretty good 'immediate gratification' hobby for someone like her, who doesn't have the patience for quilting or whatever; once you have the materials, candles can be made in under half an hour (plus a little finish work later on).

Please add me to the ping list!

I am currently working on scrapbooks. I have tons of pictures in boxes and no one ever looks at them.

I drew my brother's name in our "Make it or bake it" family Christmas exchange and am making him a scrapbook with old family photos, including copies of those my dad took when he was in North Africa and Italy during WWII.

I have needlepoint and cross stitch to work on after Christmas, and since I have quit smoking it will keep my hands busy and give me something to do besides read the disaster in Congress on FR. I am sure my blood pressure will also go down! LOL!

I have learned to knit basic stitches (my daughter taught me) and so perhaps I will learn how to make something later on this year.

What a grand idea for a thread! Thanks so much!

Beautiful lace!

I started socks this past summer. I found some cool yarn, "sockotta", it automatically makes stripes. But, I developed something called ulnar nerve entrapment, so my pinky and ring finger on my left hand is all tingly. It's like carpel tunnel, only with your 'funny bone' nerve and not your thumb, pointy and middle fingers. It probably happened from watching a 70 pound puppy for 3 months (having her pull my arm out of my socket on walks until I bought one of those spike collars, which really works, if you use it properly). So, I've put my knitting on hold, and it does seem to be improving. I did get three pairs finished though. This pattern is simple as pie and I can make a pair in a couple days.

I also made baby bumpers, crib sheets and a matching bassinet skirt and bassinet sheets for my grandbaby. Also, another daughter is expecting her first next June! And I helped my SIL make a tree skirt. I'm really proud of her, she's never sewn before and did a really good job!

KAC, I'm happy you started this!

Here's a picture of some completed socks. (I have the first four colors and a couple other colors not shown) Another sil who knits made a copy of this pattern for me, it was one of those free tear off patterns at a yarn shop.
