Britney Spears is to be investigated by social service officials concerned about the welfare of her children, it has been reported.
The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services is apparently trying to track down the singer for a meeting.
Miss Spears, 25, split from her second husband, Kevin Federline, last month, and since then has been a fixture on the Hollywood party circuit.
She has been photographed minus her underwear at nightclubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, alongside socialites Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan.
According to newspapers in the U.S., authorities fear she is failing to provide proper care for her two sons with
Federline, Sean Preston, one, and three-month-old Jayden James.
The department has been calling Britney trying to set up a meeting with her, so they can check on Sean Preston and Jayden James, a source told the New York Post.
The calls started after this recent bout of bizarre public behaviour. Her antics are also said to be worrying her mother Lynne.
She is very disturbed and has been trying to get a hold of Britney, but she cant, the source said.
Lynne, Britneys brother, Brian, and her dad, Jamie, are very upset and are trying to stage an intervention with her managers help.
Her dad is not happy. He told her that shes a grown woman and needs to act like one, and shes been making bad decisions.

Possibly, but I doubt Britney is breastfeeding her baby. That would require being on call every two to three hours which would seriously cut into her partying schedule.
Then again there's some women whose breasts get bigger through having kids whether or not they breastfeed.
Exactly: she has enough money to hire 20 nannies-- what legal authority does children services have to examine anything in her case, still less to make it public?
If she leaves her kids with a nanny and bodyguards its not clear why it makes a difference to the government what underwear she is or is not wearing while she is away from them.
>>lol... I have bad news for you mister gestapo. This story is all lies. CPS is not checking up on Britney. She may be an idiot but CPS has even bigger idiots to worry about than a rich little pop princess.<<
While I don't think underwear is any of the government's business, once you have child protective services involved they can become quite intrusive. Sometimes this is good...
In Brittney's case I think she was previously investigated for driving with her child in her lap so they likely already have a case worker assigned to her.
She gave birth 3 months ago. Speaking from experience, it's amazing what that'll do to a set...
It does not even matter if it is all lies or not. There is more than one way to raise a child. Every parent is a bad influence on their child in some dimension, INCLUDING ME.
The children are hers. The state has no business butting in unless some specific issue comes to their attention, credibily.
It's interesting that Spears, who generally remains politically ambiguous, is being investigated because her naughty bits showed up on the Internet. Meanwhile, Madonna, who champions a number of leftist causes, has been far more publicly promiscuous and seems to get a pass from the government nannies.
Maybe Britney should show up at a couple of environmentalist rallies or start up a protest organization for some pointless globalist cause. Her social services woes might magically evaporate.
you might be right. And also, it might be the case that welfare workers just want to meet a celebrity. Maybe sell some photos for a few thousand bucks...
Meanwhile, here in Baltimore and in many other cities and towns, well known crack addicts with long documented records of criminal activity; including murder and drug convictions and well documented histories of child neglect and child abuse, go about their daily lives, living in crack houses and their children die because Social Services are just too busy to check up on them not even once in many cases.
No Brittany will probably not win the award for Mother of Year, nor will she win a Noble Prize, Booker Award or even a Grammy anytime soon, although she may however one day win a Darwin Award if she keeps doing what shes doing and doesnt improve her taste in friends but please!
It sounds like some social worker wants their 15 minutes of fame.
Her kids may, in the future, benefit from some psychotherapy considering their parents and their upbringing, but I seriously doubt they are in any immediate jeopardy of bodily harm.
