'The View' Kind to Drunken DeVito
AP ^ | Dec 1, 2006 | NA

DeVito's words were bleeped out after he apparently used some bad language when joking about President Bush, whom he had imitated as a monkey and one of the Three Stooges. He later sat on O'Donnell's lap, and she kissed him on the cheek.

Of course The View forgives Danny DeVito's nasty, drunken rant about President Bush. But how irate would ABC, Barbara Walters, Rosie O'Donnell, and AP be if a drunken conservative entertainer had gone on the show and attacked Hillary?

It's bad enough daytime TV can be polluted with such venom, bad enough it's acceptable for liberals to get away with such hateful screeds, but it's good to know Danny and his wife Rhea Perlman take such pride in defiling the Lincoln Bedroom. Speaks volumes about them.

He was out partying with Looney Clooney, then on to The View, then ending up on O'Donut's lap. This guy really knows how to live it up, doesn't he!

Does this show really have an audience? DeVito is about as funny as Michael Richards. But no one is going to lambaste DeVito, except here on FR. Which is another good reason to read FR.

Anyone who watches that moronic show deserves whatever stupidity du jour they are dishing out, whether it be from the the hosts or the guests. I'd rather get a root canal than watch those hens.

The View with a Liberal uber bias!?! Who cudda thunk it.

Devito is a has been who was a B actor at best. He is looking for attention and steady employment. Just ignore him. If you dignify the antics you give him what he wants, the spotlight.

O'blather gave him a pass, too. Said he was fine on F&F just a couple hours earlier. Wondered how he could have gotten so drunk in such a short period of time.

I guess O'blather didn't listen to the F&F's version of dinky danny's performance.

Yep-Nothing wrong here since he was going after Bush.

Can you blame the little fellow for drinking? After all he's had live all these years under the worst president in history.

Give him break.

Here's from foxnews.com

"
An admittedly sloshed Danny DeVito staggered onto "The View" Wednesday -- cracking jokes about having sex with his wife in the White House and getting bleeped on the live show after calling President Bush "numb nuts."

DeVito, who's promoting his new movie, "Deck the Halls," walked onto the show's set unsteadily, and attributed his slurred speech to some all-night carousing with pal George Clooney.

"I knew it was the last seven limoncellos that were going to get me," he said about the Italian liqueur he apparently quaffed.

But just 2 1/2 hours earlier, DeVito was on FOX News Channel's "FOX & Friends" appearing completely alert, speaking clearly and joking around.

"The View" co-hosts sensed that something was amiss as soon as DeVito sat down.

"Have you been to sleep yet?" Rosie O'Donnell asked him.

"I don't know," DeVito answered. "Not really. I'm going to wait a while and go to sleep."

The conversation then turned to the White House.

Earlier in the show, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that she'd been invited to meet President Bush, and she offered to bring O'Donnell as her guest.

"I don't know if they would want me to go," O'Donnell said.

"Those back entrances, that's the way to go in, in disguise," DeVito said.

"You know what I mean? It's a really, really cool place. They built it really well," he said as the audience tittered nervously.

"And I was there during [Bill] Clinton's last stint which was ... really nice," DeVito said. "The place had that kind of Clinton feeling, you know?

"I didn't go [to the White House] after, you know, numb nuts," DeVito said, alluding to President Bush. ABC censors bleeped the phrase "numb nuts," but it was clear from reading DeVito's lips that was what he said.

"You're waking up, aren't you?" asked Joy Behar.

DeVito then mocked the president and outgoing Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld with goofy facial expressions.

He talked out of the side of his mouth and, at one point, repeatedly banged his fist on his chin, "Three Stooges"-style.

"Trying to figure out what to do with our country and our women and men in the military," DeVito said.

"Donald? Donald? OK. What about that hat trick last week? Rumsfeld, the House and the Senate? Ta-da!"

He steered the conversation toward his stay in the White House's Lincoln Bedroom with his wife, actress Rhea Perlman.

"I slept in the Lincoln Bedroom with Rhea," he said. "We went in and we made it our business to really wreck the joint. I mean, every place in that bedroom was ..."

"Utilized?" O'Donnell said.

"Utilized!" DeVito said.

DeVito finished the segment by talking about his new movie, not his condition -- but O'Donnell didn't let the issue go.

When the next guest, "Criminal Minds" star Thomas Gibson, walked out, she kissed him and said, "Nice to see you're sober."

"It's nice to be sober," he said.

DeVito "will speak privately" to "View" den mother Barbara Walters before making any kind of statement, his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, told The Post."

Well said and worth repeating, YaYa123.

Especially the line about the antics in the White House bedroom. One wuld think it an honor to have the opportunity to sleep in the White House, and not treat it like a night at the Comfort Inn.

Shame on DeVito. He's on my S-list now.

Does anyone remember in the 04 election that the Demented Dwarfs Danny and wife Rhi were at their polling place and had to be asked to leave because they had Kerry buttons on and blocked the entrance while campaigning for Kerry? So why should we be surprised at this?
