The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Good grief! I'm sure you could have thought of a million other things to do with your time than standing there listening to them ignore you. I'd be thinking of 2 x 4's upside somebody's head!

You were right on the trees down. Two dead trees behind our place and between our place and yours went down. Pictures coming...

No harm done... they're back in the woods... Two long-dead trees right next to each other at the base, one a maple, one a fir... both long dead and rotted out finally at the ground.

The fir was headed toward our place, but couldn't reach us. :~)

Looking back toward your place.

I'm surprised we didn't hear these thud when they hit. I only heard one big crack that I thought was a big branch.

Wow! Heads up!

Any more widowmakers like that around?

Yeah - there are a few other standing dead, but I don't think any of them can reach us. One that's by the trucks is not real big and would probably go the other way if it went down.

It's a good sized former tree :~) This is why I get nervous in winds! These things are everywhere around here!

(sorry for the image-less-ness above)

The Nigerian scam artists have reached a new low. I got an email from a "Sgt." in Kuwait that wants to split $25,000,000 from an "unnamed" individual.

If I send him my account info, I'll get a third of the money.

Just dang! I'd seen him a couple of times on "Raymond" while I was flipping channels, and he wans't looking too healthy.

Loved him in Young Frankenstein, and if I'm remembering correctly, he once showed up in an episode of X-Files!

Aww, jeez.

We'll have to watch Young Frankenstein today in his honor.

Yeah - it seems to be our year for wind storms. Normally get these twice or so a winter, and I think this is 3 or 4 isn't it?

Well, the trucks ~are~ at the store. We moved them out last night. We usually do move them out when we get wind.
