The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Hope Jr. is staying as far away from Nana as is possible in your house. You DON'T want her getting that!

Isn't the 'norovirus' the same as the Norwalk Virus that had been haunting cruise ships last year?

That's why we were disinfecting the upstairs bathroom in the middle of the night.

Yeah, it's a nasty job, but somebody's gotta do it!

I went and checked it out...they didn't have anything I wanted to see.

The nice thing is, you can check out a movie at one place, say while you are on vacation...then you can drop it off at any other redbox.

I went shopping. Didn't find what I was looking for. A plastic sieve with plastic mesh.

Yeah, we noticed that there wasn't a great diversity of movies in the RedBox. There were a couple that we knew were coming to us from Netflix, but for the most part, they were stupid movies we had no intention of ever watching. I think it's mainly designed for the teen to 25 yr old crowd.

I got "Flags of our Fathers" a couple of weeks ago...it was great! But there wasn't much else.

Oh, we also got "Miracle"...oh my goodness, after Steve made me sit through that absolutely mind-numbingly stupid "Mystery Alaska", this was absolute heaven! It was GREAT! I was standing in the living room CHEERING!

Heh heh! I liked it a lot.

I'm home. This is good. Long week. Ungh.

On the downside, I'm gonna get scolded Monday, 'cause we rearranged the office while my boss was out today. He's had plans for it written on the white board forever, but it was never quite the right moment to just get it done already.

Oh well. It's done.

I'm trying to decide how to broach the subject of flea control to Miss Kitty.

At least the fipronil project is finished.

Fipronil? Whassat?

I'm trying to get momentum up to do *something* here. Even if it's only watching a movie and eating popcorn.

It's the active ingredient in Frontline.

Okay. I got the stuff on TheKitty without too much trouble. She must be slowing down in her old age. :)

Oh well. It's done.

But he wouldn't have done it ~quite~ that way.

Hey, do you know of any kind of plastic strainers or anything that might use in a lab? Like a tea strainer, 'cept bigger and not metal. I need a nylon strainer...

How fine does it have to be? I can look for nylon strainers but I've always used filter paper.

About as fine as a tea strainer...

You know a regular kitchen strainer...some are finer than others...the finer one is what I'm looking for.

Paint strainers seem a bit too fine.

Sounds just lovely

That what the vacationers on all those cruise ships thought, too.
