The Hobbit Hole XXXII - Sweet is the sound of falling rain
The Freeper Hobbit Hole Blog ^ | December 1, 2006

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Oh, and we also have a well and a septic tank at the house - no town water. I'd say that's a must for living out in the boonies. Only downside was that when there were really dry summers, we'd run out of water after a few showers or a couple loads of laundry. Had to pace things.

Not a huge inconvenience, though.

OK, that really is weird, because:

I counted five F's, meaning I got two of the "of"s but not the third one. I did catch myself almost missing the first one, I counted the second one, and missed the third.

D'oh!

Actually, I do see one of those almost every day... there's a limo place on my way to work that has one of those parked outside most mornings. ;-)

That's about as stretched as stretched gets.

Can you imagine the massive I-beams running down the frame of that thing? that's a heck of a span.

Heh. I'd be very surprised if it still even *has* four-wheel drive. Why not just make it front wheel drive and dispense with the bother of a rear-drive system with a 30-foot drive shaft. Then you can lower the floor and have more room.

There are several of those in our area. Folks use them to go out for a night in Boston. Frankly I think they're dumb looking, but then I think the same thing about the L-O-N-G stretch regular limos. Just wierd, I guess.

I love our local weatherweenies. Don't know if you saw the weather but the predicted thunderstorm will hit the area at 4:45 a.m. on Saturday morning. Just FYI :-)

I suppose this has been posted here before, but it's just too well done not to reprise:
